Lists: Do You Pin?...Quotes

With Tami's Blog this morning she asked the question Do you Pin? and  Pinned Quotes that have inspired me to create new scrapbook pages:

Well, I'm new to pinning on Pinterest...Tami got me started with some really great ideas on FB. I'm still only in the beginning building stages of pinning...but...I have used quotes in scrapbooking before. I keep several files of quotes in my documents for just about any occasion...you never know when you need them.  I'd like to share a few of those pages with you.

Neither idea is done with Mosaic Moments grids, but you would have no trouble making the adjustment.

My husband passed away in Sept. 2005. Afterward there were a lot of challenges we all had to face. I'm a John Wayne fan and one of the quotes that kept me moving forward was attributed to him; "Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway." the second was a Mark Twain quote: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than the ones you did. Throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails, explore, dream, discover."

The first is a three page layout that I did with my daughter Libby and uses the Courage quote. It was March and she was 16, just learning to drive. We drove to Texas for a mother-daughter conference weekend. It was a big deal for me to make that trip across country (leaving the rest at home) and it was a big deal for her to go rappelling.

This was a three page layout showing the whole tower and prep.

The second project I used quotes in was a digital scrapbook (my first!) I did for my In-Laws 65th anniversary later that year. I'd scrapbooked just about every other part of their life and was looking for something new to give them as a gift. I got the idea to have each member of the family pick a photo of themselves to include and to use a quote to illustrate the page. Preferably something you remember hearing Mom & Dad say to you as you were growing up. Mom & Dad were real Tigers fans so we used a lot of baseball quotes on their pages. These are the pages of my kids and quotes for them, for me, I used the Twain quote and a photo Hannah took of me on one of the ships at Jamestown from our trip there that spring.

So find a quote that inspires you and get scrapping!

thanks for stopping by...

Like the courage title! Great 3pg layout. Also like the digital page - I haven't tried this yet.

No Sheila, the quote was done on the computer, changed various words to different fonts and layered it over the photo. Those last six pages are all digital pages. Worked on an 8.5"x11" with a 8.5"x8.5" size for a finished project, so trimmed it to that size after printing. That's a lesson too!
