As part of my picture a day challenge, I am always looking for new something new and different. A friend, who follows my photos on facebook, asked if I had seen the flowers near the Cocoa Beanery, a favorite coffee/tea/lunch spot. I had not, but I was determined to get there.
I work at Penn State University's Hershey Medical Center in Hershey Pennsylvania. Our campus is beautiful and will look even better when some current construction is completed. I approach the campus from the east so I had not seen this particular field of flowers. Working twelve hour shifts leaves me little time to do anything at the end of the day, but one particular Saturday, I decided to take the long way home. I was amazed when I saw this incredible field. Others were stopping and taking photos, families were there taking pictures of their children in the flowers. I of course grabbed my camera and started snapping away as the sun was setting and light was fading fast.
The next morning, I was up and ready for work early. I started my day at the field of flowers shortly after 6 a.m. I took more photos in the ealry morning light before heading into the hospital to begin my shift at 7 a.m. Since then, I've visited a number of times. The colors keep changing as more flowers begin to bloom and others have withered away.
I hope you enjoy these photos of late spring/early summer color along Bull Frog Valley road near the Cocoa Beanery and Life Lion Hangar in Hershey.
