Enter Title Sedona and Grand Canyon

Our first challenge for July was to let a patriotic song inspire us and include some of the words to the song on our page(s).  We recently took a 3-week trip through the southwest part of the U.S.  It included the Grand Canyon and Sedona, Arizona.

We have traveled to several beautiful countries, but as we drove through our own, we commented that there is no country on earth which has such a variety of unbelievably magnificent sights.  God must have really been "on a roll" when he got to America!

I chose black grid paper and two titles which I had purchased on our trip in anticipation of a possible mosaic to be created.  I cut some vertical strips at the top of the first page--to give the idea of height and follow the look of the rock formations.  Hopefully, it is effective.

To finish the challenge, I wrote the words to "This Land is Your Land" with a white journaling pen around the outside of the pages.  The first verse was a definite fit to my feelings at the time . . ."As I was walking a ribbon of highway, I saw above me an endless skyway.  I saw below me a golden valley . . . this land was made for you and me."

I added a few little musical notes to my journaling to finish the project.

Tami and I drove through and around Sedona a few years ago. It was extremely beautiful. I'm not sure we captured the area as you did in your photos. They are great.

Awesome page! Beautiful pictures, titles go great w/them and the hand written lyrics - clever.

@Beth...maybe Tami will make it a challenge for us all to go on the road and get 7 takes on the same place...if not...maybe we should!LOL!!

I agree with Andrea...the black paper really shows off the beautiful photos. And I love the song lyrics and notes around the edge of the pages too. I haven't been to the Grand Canyon yet...Hey, Andrea, should we plan to go together!! LOL Great job, Linda!

Your mosaic is fantastic! I love the pictures and writing the words to the song with the white pen was an excellent idea. I need to get a pen like that.

I love it - the pictures work well together and the black paper just makes them pop. And I love the journaling around the outside!

Dang Girl! What an amazing collection of photos. I really like the journalling around the edges, too! What could possibly be more american than the grand canyon, right? I totally get what you're saying about the variety of views in the US. And the die cuts at the bottom . . . This whole layout really works together!

Your photos are beautiful! I love the journaling around the border. :) Can you share which brand of white pen you used? - it did a great job.

I love the black background. It really shows off the pages. It's amazing the shapes of all the rock formations and how you displayed them. Great job!
