MM June Challenge #2 Daddy's Girl

The 2nd challenge in June called for MM pattern #23, a choice of patterned paper, buttons, brads or a MM free download. I didn't have a set idea of what to do for this challenge but since Father's Day was just last week, I decided to go with that theme. The patterned paper was my inspiration in trying to make a man's shirt, and honestly I tried many different types of shirts before I finally got it right with this one. Then I added the buttons and I was happy with the result.

Instead of using a current Father's Day photo, I decided to use our FIRST Father's Day as the theme of this assignment.That picture was taken 19 years ago and WOW has time gone by fast! This baby is all grown up and in college now.

I used my Slice machine to die cut all the words, inked around the edges of the list ladder and even added brads. I didn't want to make this page overly frilly, but it needed a feminine touch. I added the flowers in coordinating colors of brown, beige, blue, green and orange and a tag with the title of the page..Daddy's Girl...and boy is she ever her Daddy's girl!!

Great theme! Have to say I really love the shirt. It is amazing to be able to create a shirt out of paper that jumps off the page. Of course, the love and affection comes across through your beautiful artwork. Every piece is placed perfectly and with great thought. One can feel the time and creativity in your work. Great Job!!

I love how you incorporated several of our challenge elements into this page--the patterned paper with your adorable shirt and the buttons on it and your great use of brads to dot the "i"s. Beautiful page!

Using Father's first Father's day was a great way to reflect on such a special time. The patterned paper was a great selection for the shirt and the buttons make the shirt complete. Loved it great work

Lovely color scheme Beth. The flowers add a sweet touch of color. Using brads for flower centers and dots on the "i's" is so clever! Love that you used the ladder as a space for your title and that you used a variety of sizes and fonts in a staggered presentation. Even the time you took to perfect your shirt, piecing it to get the collar and sleeves to look like they would on a shirt...pattern not matching at the seams, well worth it!! Most of all, what a memory to preserve, heartwarming! Time passes so quickly doesn't it?

Way to go, Beth! LOVE the shirt... and love how the colors and the whole scheme - not overly frilly but with the feminine touch. And those two people in the picture certainly have grown and changed!!! Sweet Sweet Sweet.
