Treasures From Mom's Jewelry Box

The assignment for this month was just what I needed to record some memories about my mother's jewelry.  We made a trip home to Charlottesville, Virginia in March to remove any personal items we wanted to keep before we began the process of clearing Mom's house to put it on the market. It was a really bittersweet time - lots of smiles and laughter, and lots of tears too. These are a few of the items from my mom's jewelry box that have special meaning to me. None of them are particularly valuable, but they are priceless to me, for the memories they hold.

Just a little side note - I was looking for something to embellish the left side of the page to complement the punched border at the bottom of the right side of the page. I finally figured out that I could cut little pieces from the border and they worked great.  Added a few pearls, and viola!

Everything looks so "neat" and precise. I love the lacy embellishments and the typewritten journaling.

I really like the journalling to accompany the pieces of jewelery---reminding yourself and your readers of the history behind each piece. I also like how you carried the punched border across to the first page with individual pieces of it. Lovely page.

Such a beautiful way to honor the memory of the things that belonged to your Mother. The patterned paper you chose is perfect and I love the combination of raspberry and black!

This layout really inspired me. I have lots of crocheted things my mom made. I will take my cue from you and make a few pages. This is very heartwarming and nostalgic. Great job.

I love that you scrapped treasures from your mom - and especially that you included so much journaling!

Oh Nancy, what a nice way to remember the significance of each piece that is precious to you by including a coresponding box with the details. I like how you've continued the punched border across by featuring a small detail with a pearl. Beautiful Memories!
