For April's first challenge, I used black grid paper and dark brown fillers. My husband and I went out very early one morning (he is an early riser, and I am not, but I managed to drag myself out of bed) to see and capture an absolutely magnificient sunrise. We live in a neighborhood which has a small lake with a gazebo. We took some shots there (also got some of the beautiful ducks which were enjoying their morning baths) and then walked back to our home, taking more pictures along the way.
Page one is just one picture, because I couldn't stand the thought of cluttering up the page with other pictures. The original is so much brighter--it almost looks like a magazine cover. I used the title Dawn's Early Light and marveled at the thought that the writer of the Star Spangled Banner was, many years ago, looking at this same sun. God's handiwork always puts our feeble attempts at making something beautiful to shame!
Once inside, since our front door faces east, I was able to take some nice shots of our front door and front window, with the sun just beginning to show through. Once again, my posts here don't really do the pictures justice.
One of our challenges was to try capturing interesting shadows. So, I went into our back yard, and standing with my back to the sun, I took some shots of our bushes. On page two lower right, in the original picture you can see my shadow stretching onto the bushes.
I didn't do any extra embellishing, because I didn't want to detract from the pictures. Thanks, Tammy, for giving me the incentive to immortalize in pictures such a beautiful morning!
