To celebrate her very first decade, I planned a spa themed party for Alexis. It was a lot of fun to plan and prepare. The biggest challenge ended up being "flip flops" - we were well into the fall season and the stores were completely out of summer related items. Thankfully a wonderful friend found a few pairs of "pedicure" flip flops at a beauty supply store. I attached flowers to dress them up. They were very fragile - most of them didn't last the night - but I got a few great photos of the pampered toes before the flip flops fell apart.
A couple of weeks before the party, I purchased several white hand towels. I designed and printed the invitations, wrapped them around the towels, and secured them with sheer pink ribbons. It was a small party; so, it wasn't a big deal to hand deliver each invitation.
The night of the party Paije, Kelly and I set up 3 stations - a foot massage and pedicure, a hand massage and manicure, and a facial. The girls kept us "hopping" all evening. Paije did the manicures and Kelly switched between the facials and the pedicures. Between taking pictures, I served the girls magazines, hors d'oeuvre and desserts throughout the evening.
Each of the girls went home with a goodie bag filled with goodies and "spa treats" purchased at the Bath and Body Shop.
