What Says "Winter" to Me?

What says "Winter" to me?  Well, I can tell you one thing for sure -  it isn't mittens and snowball fights!  I'm a winter hibernator.  I wish I could tunnel into my scraproom, crank up the space heater, and not come out until Spring.  But, since that isn't very practical, I thought I would share the things that warm my body and my spirit during these cold winter months in Ohio

First and foremost - the Snuggie!  So near and dear to my heart.  I got mine for Christmas last year.  My dogs always cuddle up in blankets, but this year, two of them got snuggies of their very own for Christmas!  We also layer our Snuggies with an electric blanket whenever possible.

Cuddleduds!  If you're not familiar with these - you must not be from the North!  This is a brand of really soft long underwear - way better than the waffly thermals of yesterday.  I work in an office at a desk job but I still start out with a base layer of Cuddleduds every day (and usually use them for pajamas, too!)

Warm things from the kitchen.  The crock pot, tea pot and coffee pot are my best friends when it comes to nourishment on these long dark nights.

The corner cabinet in my dining room holds more tea cups, along with dishes that once belonged to my great Aunt and mementos of my Grandmother.  Every time I look at those things, I am warmed to the core by happy memories. My grandmother told me when she passed the dishes on to me that she was only doing so on the condition that I would use them (actually eat and drink from them - not just put them on a shelf to be pretty) and I honor her request!

Nook - Reading on my Barnes & Noble "nook" helps pass the time until the sunshine comes out!  I download all kinds of books - usually non-fiction, and sometimes even magazines.  It holds something like 600 books.  That leaves a lot more shelf space for scrapbooking supplies and albums, you know?

This is my winter arsenal!  With these weapons, I can fight through the cold.

Also love to curl up with my Nook - and I got a Snuggie for Christmas to keep me warm in the frozen northeast.

It's only 60 here but I still wish I had one of those snuggie things. Great page and great journaling!
