Our challenge was to take inspiration from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I'm a big SciFi fan, but my inspiration lead me to another path. I have been wanting to scrap my trip to Europe from 1986 for a very long time and I thought this made the perfect time. So if I was to ask the inhabitants of Magreathea to build me a planet I would like them to build the places I visited!
I gathered my supplies ( I have way more than this to scrap this trip, but I had to limit myself, lol). I decided to go with MM grid paper in white and use the new pink paper tiles (I just got in last week) along with black cardstock.
I used my Flip Pal mobile scanner to scan my pictures. I didn't want to cut up the only copies of my pictures from the trip, just in case. I also like to do some cropping on the computer before I print out my pictures.
I used my bakers twine to sew the route on the map that we took, then made little flags with the city names on them.
I noticed that the "thumbs up" cornerstone we have if turned 90* looks like a hitchhikers thumb! I thought it would be a great addition to the page and theme.
For my journaling I used a grey ink and 2nd generation stamped over it with a postcard stamp set from CTMH.
{The following is the English translation of my journaling: in 1986 my French class traveled to Europe. We landed in Geneva Switzerland where I bought lots of Swiss chocolate and a Swatch watch (in vogue back then) The gardens were amazing. then we travel by bus thru the Swiss Alps on thru the Po Valley of Italy into the south of France where we visited Nice, Nimes and Monico, they all had beautiful sights of the Golf of Lion in the Mediterranean Sea along with some amazing architecture. We boarded an overnight train to Paris France were we saw The Eiffel Tower, the L'arc de Triomphe and the Louvre before heading home. We had the time of our lives!}
So strap on your backpacks or enter your space ships and enjoy the ride of a 16yr olds life!
