OK, I know I just announced how happy I was that I found a job as a Quality Supervisor at a pharmaceutical packaging company, BUT!! The fabulous company that I worked for at the end of last year as a temporary employee called and wanted me back…permanently! It’s a wonderful company, so I happily accepted and returned to my position as a Complaint Coordinator.
Unfortunately, that meant leaving my supervisor job and the folks I worked with. On my last day, they surprised me with a cupcake party! I had only my phone with me, but I wanted to remember everyone after I was gone, so I started snapping pictures. The photos are goofy, the lighting is not great and the smiles are “cheesy,” but what a fun way to capture the moment! I knew I wanted to scrapbook these photos in some way, and what better sentiment than “SAY CHEESE”?
Living in Wisconsin, I am very fortunate that the word “cheese” can be found on billboards, buildings and shops almost everywhere you look! I took the cheese photos at The Cheese Box, right here in Lake Geneva. One is of the sign out front and the other is on the building itself. It’s for sale if anyone is interested!
Next, I kept my eyes peeled and my camera with me during my travels to and from work in case I stumbled on any signs with letters I could use for “SAY.” The SAY CHEESE across the top of the page is comprised of a section of my rubber snake named Lisa for the “S”, an “A” bookend I spotted at TJMAXX, and a “Y” out of the “Cakewalk” 8x8 patterned paper from October Afternoon available on www.snapncrop.com. Going vertically, the snake “S,” an “A” out of the patterned paper and a “Y” in a tree in Capron, IL. Across the bottom are miscellaneous letters that I wanted to include, such as the “CH” and “E” from the patterned paper, another “H” from a county road sign and my hand in the form of a sign language “Y.”
I chose Sunflower Grid Paper from www.snapncrop.com because it most closely matched the color of cheese, the page pattern is my own creation and the little chipboard cheese at the top is a remnant from the BasicGrey Max and Whiskers collection. I decided to print the photos in black and white because I wanted the letters of the message to stand out.
I hope you enjoyed my alphabet journey and I’ll see you next time!!
