I was a little daunted by this challenge at first, but once I started working on it, everything fell into place! It felt like a lot of requirements - use Raspberry grid paper, use pictures of things that make you smile, use page pattern #64 AND use one of origami, ink or clay. So, first challenge - find recent pictures, or take new ones that will go with the raspberry background....I had some pictures just taken of my grandkids at the City park - I figured I could combine the pink and green from the leaves somehow in patterned paper to make these work on the raspberry grid paper. Now, make the pictures fit the page pattern. Hmmm. I could turn the page pattern to make use of my portrait-orientation pictures, but decided to use other pictures instead. I liked the three spots at the bottom of the page with 3 squares by 3 squares each for each of my three fur-babies, Romeo, Cicero and Lucky. Next problem - I have four grandkids, but one of them was not in this set of shots. I just decided too bad - he'll just have to be left out of this one! If he wasn't at the park anyway, it will accurately document the day...Now for using origami, ink or clay. I decided I would go with one of my favorite things - using ink on Hot Off the Press "Color Me" papers. These papers are embossed so when you put the ink on, it only colors the background and leaves the pattern intact once you rub over it with a paper towel or wipe. A lot of my inks are already packed but I found one box still out and thank goodness it had pink and green pigment inks! I was in business! I used a light and darker hue of each color and I really like the way it turned out. So here are the fur-babies and skin-babies that brighten my day and make me smile:
