MMDT Challenge #9

Forget Me Not --

Our first challenge of May was using the Periwinkle paper, page pattern 58 and the theme "forget me not".  Our design should include at least one of the following elements, string, Mosaic Moments cornerstones or Doodles.

I completed my May pages during a fundraising crop and for once I remembered to take some progression photos.

As I am approaching my 40th birthday in just a couple of months its is the perfect time to reflect on what I want to convey at this time of my life.    I used a journaling block from Close to My Heart  to convey my thoughts.  Remember my optimism, tp have fun and to enjoy the little things.

Since I had just gone to the CKC convention I had lots of fun embellishments to play with including butterfly cornerstones, bazzill basic chip toppers, paper flowers, fancy pants rub ons and pink and purple paper tiles.

I hope you enjoy my pages.

Goofy pictures remind me and everyone not to take life too seriously :)

My Tiara that I wear every year on my birthday to remind the boys in my life that I am a princess (its plastic and came off a cake my step mom bought me thinking it would embarrass me at 36...nope I LOVE it)

The paper flowers were made layering 3 different size flowers and holding together with a brad then using a pop dot to adhere to the page.  The saying below sums up my outlook on life right now.

Love this! Great job at recording where you are at this point in your life. And I love the meaning behind the goofy photo.

Wow - I also have a tiara for my birthdays. My family calls me Queen! This is such a fun layout. It is simple but it shows you did a lot of work. The colors are great, soft and relaxing. The progression shots are great. I never think about that until after I am done. You did a great job.

Very nice pages! My favorite is the tiara! I think it's cool that you where it every year on your birthday! That is something that everyone in your life will remember and that's priceless!

The mirror image of the pages is great - especially love how the Journaling is placed to be a "reflection" of the image of you. :)

I have often said that life's not all about getting to the next destination....it's about ejoying the journey. So glad to see that others live by that philosophy as well!Love your page, the colors, the butterflies....AND I think we should ALL have tiaras!

I love the tiara!!!! You go, girl! (And yes Nancy, you should get one, too!) Your journaling is wonderful...as is your outlook on life! Love the fun photo!

40 is a big milestone, but you know what? I think I've been happier after 40 than any time before - something happens to you - you don't take things as seriously, and you care less about what other people think of you. I only wish I had half the confidence I do now when I was a teen/early 20-something! And I love the tiara too! Think I'll get myself one - what do you think? :)

My philosophy is, "if it's not fun, I'm not doing it!" I'm glad you're discovering that at and/or before your 40th birthday. I like the textures and colors you've woven into your design and what a perfect place to unleash your creativity -- at a CKC Convention.
