FORGET-ME-NOT

Forget-Me-Not

The message of this layout is "what do I want people to remember about me at this phase of my life". The first thing that came to mind was the project I have been working on for the last three years. My Ferrara Family Photo Journal. This journal documents each member of my very large family. It starts with my grandparents. The photo used for the cover is a portrait of my grandmother at 16 years old. I took head shots of every family member.

Cover Page

Elements of the page include:

Periwinkle Grid paper

Accent color is lavender

Page pattern #58

String, white and blue

Martha Stewart punch

Grommets

I used blue tiles with lavender overlays punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I added white string bows for contrast of color.

The full page

Blue String

I had in my collection of flower images these dainty periwinkle blue flowers which bordered this photo so well. They look a lot like Forget-Me-Nots. I used four grommets and pulled blue string through on the sides to give this portion of the page texture and balance the white string on the other side of the page.

What a pretty page! And what a wonderful thing you're doing for your family! Priceless! I think the punched and string accents are my favorites, but I really like the 1" tiles of your flowers too!

I really liked this page, Dale! The punch border is a really pretty touch, as are the flowers. You are right, the photos of the little periwinkle flowers really do work well with the photo of the book. I am so glad so many of us included photos of ourselves in this challenge...after all it is about US, isn't it!? :) Nice work!

This is not a small undertaking. I applaud you for taking that first step. It certainly fits well into the parameters of the challenge. I like the way you turned the layout; especially the border punched edging.

I, too, love to document my family, but I have never taken on getting photos of everyone and compiling it in a book. What an amazing gift you are making for everyone!

Dale, what an undertaking with a large family! Beautiful layout. Those periwinkles are so hardy. My vines last all winter and are blooming now. Not as pretty as yours though. The punches and bows are a nice touch. Also, nice to see photos of you with your project. You should be very proud :)

Dale I like seeing each element of the page pattern just as Tami designed it...but on it's side! It works very well for your title!! Documenting all the family members is a huge task, I'm it is one your family will CERTAINLY remember you for and appreciate for many, many years to come! Lot's of nice little touches with the punched papers and strings. Nice job!
