Go, Dog. Go!

I've been keeping up with the new design team (they're doing a great job!) and saw there was a challenge that was to be inspired by Dr. Seuss. My son was a big Dr. Seuss fan and I still have many of his books on the bookshelf. I think I've kept them this long (my son will be 16) partly because they are just great kids books and partly because I'm not ready to admit my son is growing up!

So, when I saw this challenge, I knew I wanted to create a page! Last summer, we took our annual trip to the Outer Banks and spent a week at the beach. "We" were 3 couples, 2 teens and 4 dogs! I'll admit I had a great time, especially playing with the dogs on the beach.....but.....now that I've done that one time, it's off the bucket list! Not that it was ever on the list...but 4 dogs in one house is something I never need to do again.

Needless to say, I chose the book Go, Dog. Go! It was also one of my favorites when I was a kid!

I used the color scheme of the book cover...orange on top, green on bottom and touch of yellow in the center. The title was cut with a cricut..white with a black shadow for the title and yellow lettering for the date on the bottom as is also on the cover of the book. I'm not sure which font I used since I did this at a crop and used the cricut that was there.

I grouped the ocean shots together and surrounded them with 1" squares of ocean. I did the same for the pool shots and beach shots.

By the way, for the new team members, the above black and white dog is my cockapoo, Murphy, and he is by my side almost all the time! Unfortunately, I couldn't take him to the crop but he is right next to me now! That's him sleeping less than a foot away from my desk.

Hope you enjoyed my version of the popular Dr. Seuss book, Go, Dog. Go! I had a great time creating it and am happy to say that some of the ladies at the crop came over to me and said with pleasure, "I was told to come by and see what you are doing!" Tami, I gave you and Mosaic Moments a great big plug!

This is great. We actually DO have four dogs -- two came back with our son when he and his ex got a divorce. Four dogs are too many, but we wouldn't dream of getting rid of any of them. Thanks for capturing the spirit of the challenge and moving forward.

I love this layout! It jumped right out at me on the main page and I had to come in for a closer look. I love the colors and use of little squares. Great job!

Just love the colors, the layout that mimics the book cover and the dog antics. If only I could get psyched and find time at the same time to get so creative - still stuck on a Disney album with another trip to do after... Great page!

Oh Beth!!! This is wonderful! I LOVE IT!!! The color is great, the font is spot on and I love how you have cropped all the photos using some as 2x2 blocks and others as 1" squares! Thanks for joining in on the challenge, I have truly enjoyed your page!!!
