We've had a ton of snow lately. I think our local jeweler may be a bit nervous, or at least his ad man may be. They ran a pre-Christmas ad campaign that guaranteed a full refund on purchases between Thanksgiving and Christmas eve...if it snowed 6" on New Year's Day. There is already that on the ground...maybe more on the way...sounds like fun!
However, I've not been out in the snow playing...not in a long time...I've reached a block in my creative process this weekend so I've been trying to do a few things to rejuvenate. First I cleaned my room/studio top to bottom then I sorted through stacks of scrap papers finally releasing some to the garbage and others to be filed for future use. I watched some old Perry Mason episodes from the '50's, but figuring out the murderer wasn't the creative break that helped. I think I should stick to Westerns. I finally Mod Poged the Advent calendar box I made last year, but never sealed. Everyone has been complaining about the smell of the stuff, guess I should have worked in a more ventilated area...
Finally I went flipping through old photos in search of new inspiration. I came across these pages I did about a day in the snow with my son Andrew. All the older kids were not interested in playing so I went out and threw myself into it. We no longer have the long run as David has constructed a woodworking shop where the base of our hill once was. But it might be just enough of a slope to go sledding with Isabella!
I share these pages because I was struck at how similar the style is to the Mosaic grid style...and this was before I had MM!! That and I felt like mixing it up a bit and seeing some snow inspiration! This is from 2003.
