First, I apologize for my late submission. Owning a retail business at Thanksgiving & Christmas time leaves little time for anything else.
For this challenge, I chose to make a mini book of my son's camp experience. It was his 7th summer at this camp and he loves it so much. He has even applied to be a "staff assistant" this summer now that he is too old to be a camper.
One of the elements we could incorporate was something attached with pop dots to create a raised effect. On the cover, I did a 3x3 mosaic with the tag stamped 100% summer attached with pop dots. As you may remember from the last challenge, I am not a good stamper but I am practicing!
To make the book, I followed the instructions on Tami's blog. The first 2 attempts were a disaster but the third was the charm. After getting the folds correct and scored, I adhered fabric tape to reinforce the inside spine of the book. The polka dotted tape also adds a fun element.
All of the pages used Tami's pre-cut tile blocks and I cut the photos to fit the tile blocks. I did this so I would not have to cut the actual photos because I wanted to keep them intact. I must admit that I did not take these photos. I took them off the camp's website so I had to work with the photos they shot.
I really enjoyed this challenge even though it took quite a while to complete. Remember I had to look through pages and pages of photos (6 weeks worth) on the camp's website, then make the actual book times! As you'll notice also, there was no actual grid paper used. That got tossed with the first 2 books so I just eyeballed it as best as possible.
So, now that the book is done (and got the stamp of approval from my son) do I keep it or give it to him?
