I was going through some old things and found some mementos. They reminded me of a trip we took several years ago to Nashville, TN.
I try to make sure, with so many business trips scheduled, that we don't just see the inside of convention center after convention center. So, before we travel to a new area I get on the Internet and search for things unique to the area we will be visiting. When most people hear "Nashville" they think about country music and the Grand Ole Opry. I imagine some folks would be surprised to find, in the middle of downtown Nashville, a full sized replica of the Parthenon, I know I was. Once I found it, I had to visit.
The building is surrounded by a park and was lovely place to spend a few hours before our long journey home.
One of my memory Pages from the trip:
The columns made a great backdrop family portraits.
TRIVIA: The Parthenon in Nashville, Tennessee is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial.
