For the past few summers we have rented a beach house on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. From where we are in NY, it is a 10-12 hour drive (which we do straight thru) but it is totally worth it. Once we get there it is beach, pool, relaxation and fun. We usually rent a house that is several miles out on the beach which is called the 4x4 area. You actually need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there and once you are there, you want to stay put.
We load the car full of supplies and head out as early as possible for our weeks stay. No one packs a lot of clothing...it is sunscreen, bathing suits, games, food and beach supplies. Days are spent on the beach or in the pool and dinner is a group effort. After dinner, games are played and some of us are quite competitive!
This layout shows various activities from our past few summers including the wild horses that roam freely, kids in the pool, kids and dogs on the beach and in the ocean and a group shot of us attempting to make a pyramid.
The 2" border paper was chosen because it reminded me of the waves in the ocean and it was the perfect spot to journal words in circular bubbles the remind me our favorite summer vacation.
We're looking forward to this year's journey to the Outer Banks at the end of August. More scrapbooking pages await!
